So who are you guys?Hey there! We're willing to bet that we have much in common with you. Both of us grew up in New York, and got married and moved to New Jersey (with detours through Phoenix and Jacksonville, along the way) and we are now newly transplanted down south!
We're also just a family, always looking to be more intentional in the ways in which we teach our children - and in this specific instance, the way they connect with the weekly parsha or Torah portion, plus all the super-fun (and sometimes exhausting) Jewish holidays. If you're looking for us to get more specific than that, no worries. Just scroll on down to find out more. Rabbi Dr. Josh Wise Rabbi Josh is first and foremost, an abba to his small tribe of kids. During the day, though, he is the school principal, an educational consultant and the math teacher's teacher. He's a total numbers-guy, happy to answer any math-related questions you might have, and who finds great pleasure in learning new magical formulas in Excel. He layns like a boss, will never ever turn down an offer of Chinese food, and can often be found at 4:30am running on the treadmill in preparation for a 5K that he has not yet signed up for, but thinks about semi-often. Jennifer Wise Jen is a freelance writer, editor and designer, - and now an artist - who spends more hours a day in her minivan than she can publicly admit. The best job she ever had - besides for mommy - was art teacher, followed closely by cake decorator and camp counselor. She's pretty much figured out how to make a good loaf of sourdough bread, ferments every cucumber that crosses her path, and spends hours daydreaming of being an actual homesteader. She also halfheartedly goes walking almost every day(ish) to counteract all that driving, and she's finally learning to use her sewing machine after it has sat on a shelf for way too long. Her next new skills will hopefully be knitting and possibly some guitar playing. These days, you can find Jen and her art on Instagram @jenwiseart. |
